Mini LANs Monday, November 16 @ 16:50:11 CET by Zeplin (56 reads) | Recently been doing some mini-lans, Just to keep up with some of the latest Multiplayer.
Borderlands is a top new game, Game play resembling Diablo 2 FPS. Except its set in a cartoon style desert creature style theme. at least initially. in the search for a place called the vault. Fallout anyone? lol.
Bad news on the Call of Duty 6 Front. It does NOT have LAN support. Serious shame. Its also steam integrated. Also a shame. The single player however is quite nice. Same with Starwars Force Unleashed, No LAN support. However i recommend the single player in this game. Its quite fun.
Back on track with Multiplayer, Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, Excellent Military simulation. Maybe a little to so for some of us. The missions are complex, Require careful forethought and planing in hardcore mode. Difficulty scales in the amount of information available to the team rather then AI skills. Even the island is based around a real island. Unless you like real military strategy this is probably not for you. That said, It makes for one hell of a coop game with the right team.
Wolfenstien has been out for a while nice, Fun game, LAN support. Maps are of average size, scales well between 2-32 players. If it wasnt so much like Call Of Duty 2, It might be popular on LAN.
Heroes Over Europe came out with LAN support, Much like Heroes of the Pacific. Good fun on the LAN. However Hawx is still number 1 in the flight field right now. I don't see anything being much of a contender for that for some time. Maybe if Tom Clancy combined the games, to make an Ultimate next generation battlefield game, that would blow Hawx away. Untill then, This is it.
Need for Speed Shift, Excellent on the LAN however keyboard control requires more work then necessary, However a fun racing game. Plenty of unlocks, and lots and lots of car choice. As well as limits on cat power per race if you so choose in Multi.
Enjoy :)
